A sample scene plays for a moment, then the picture squashes vertically into a horizontal line that brightens to white, with a cool phosphor glow spilling above and below it. The line pinches into a single dot, the dot decays, and the frame is left black. The collapse itself takes 18 frames, a little over half a second, and the whole clip is about two seconds.

You can change how long the collapse takes, how hard the picture brightens as it squashes, how far the afterglow reaches and the glow color, plus playback speed and background. Use it to end a video, cut away from a retro scene, close a gaming or nostalgia clip, or add a comic "shut it down" beat.
