# Free Animated Chart Templates for Data Videos

Animated chart templates turn a table of numbers into something viewers can follow. This collection is for analysts, educators, finance creators and marketers presenting growth, rankings or comparisons on video. It holds a bar chart race, a line graph, growing bars, a revenue and conversion chart, a before/after comparison and a data story chart, each driven by values you supply.

## Where animated charts work

Static charts on video are hard to read because the viewer does not know where to look. Animation fixes that by showing the data in order. Bars grow one at a time, a line draws from left to right, and the viewer follows along.

Bar Chart Race is the classic for rankings over time: bars reorder as values change, the leader takes a highlight color and the axis rescales. Minimal Line Graph draws two series with point labels and a legend on a transparent background, so it sits over footage or a slide. Data Chart draws revenue bars and then a conversion-rate line with value labels and a tracking dot.

Animated Bar is a compact monochrome card with growing bars, a drawn curve and a callout. Split comparison lays out a before and an after, and Data story animates a set of values under a title.

## What makes a good animated chart

Fewer numbers, larger labels. A chart on video gets seconds, not minutes, so show the values that make your point and label them clearly. Title and subtitle fields carry the question and the unit.

Real data. The sample values in these templates are placeholders. Replace them with numbers from a source you can name; Data Chart has a source field for exactly that.

Pacing that fits the story. In Bar Chart Race you set how long each period lasts, so a decade of data can play slowly or quickly depending on your edit.

## What you can customize

Bar Chart Race takes periods, series data, how many bars to show, period length, value prefix, suffix and decimals, and an accent color. Minimal Line Graph takes two series names, their values and the axis labels. Data Chart takes labels, revenue values, conversion values and a source line. Animated Bar takes a title, subtitle, callout and values. Split comparison takes a before and an after, and Data story takes a title, values and an accent color.
